Supari Cutting Methods

Method 1: Dry Cutting (For Granules/Rough/Crushed)

Option A (Sunlight): Keep Raw Betel Nuts in an airtight plastic bag or jar. Place under direct sunlight for 1-2 hours. This ensures the nut breaks into perfect granules without excess powder.

Option B (Lukewarm Roast): Roast the nuts with sand in a pan until lukewarm. This is the best method for obtaining clean Round Slices or Single/Double cuts.

Method 2: Moisture Conditioning (Air Dried)

For high-quality Slice or Tinpatti cutting: Store nuts in a plastic bag and sprinkle 1-2 glasses of water. Pack airtight for 12 to 24 hours. If the desired softness is not reached, repeat the water spray every 12 hours until ready.

Method 3: Water Soaking (For Soft Slice Cutting)

Soak Raw Betel Nuts in a bucket of water for 36 to 48 hours. Transfer to a plastic bag for another 12 to 24 hours before cutting. This results in smooth, uniform slices.

Method 4: Processing Roasted Betel Nuts

For Crispy Granules: Roast the raw nut, then immediately soak in water for 30 minutes. Pack in a plastic bag. Before cutting, heat again with sand until lukewarm. This prevents the nut from turning into powder and keeps it tasty.

For Slices from Roasted Nuts: Soak roasted nuts in water for 1 hour. Pack in a bag for 12 hours. Heat with sand until lukewarm before cutting to get perfect round slices.
